Rapid deforestation in Dadeldhura district, western
Nepal, has left Rangoon valley which cover 26 per cent of Chure hills at the
edge of extinction. Encroachment by human settlement is considered to be the
reason for swift destruction of forest in the area. However, valley could be
recovered if the government were to take the responsibility sincerely for the
development of the area.
