Export
of pebbles, sand and other construction materials from Chure range, to India
has been banned to control the environmental degradation in the area. Nepal government
has given this priority to protect the chure environment since the area is in
very critical condition and continuous extraction of those materials could lead
to the desertification of lowlands of Tarai.
