MIGRATION OF TWO NEW BIRD SPECIES TO ACAP- NEPAL



New bird species Pied Cuckoo (Clamator jacobinus) and Emerald Dove (Chalcophaps indica) were spotted in the Annapurna Conservation Area, western Nepal. With this two new species, the total numbers of avian species in this region reach to 490. Though these birds are believed to be found at an altitude of 400 meters, they were marked at 790m to 8,091 m in the conservation area. The migration of these birds from lower to higher altitudes is supposed to be the impact of global warming
