The CBD Secretariat just announced that 12 countries have ratified
the Nagoya Protocol on Access- and Benefit-sharing in the past
couple
of weeks. Thanks to today's ratification by Uruguay, 51 parties to
the CBD have now ratified the Nagoya-Protocol, enabling it to
enter
into force on October 12 2014.
The first Meeting of the Parties (MOP) to the Nagoya-Protocol will
be held from October 13 to 17 in Pyeonchang, South Korea
during the second week of the COP.
