forests in BP Nagar area in the southern part of Doti district, far western Nepal
to make way for transmission line. Locals are given fake assurance that they
will construct micro-hydropower project in their village if villagers, allowed
to cut tress required for the electrification lines. District forest office has
started to take action against such illegal felling.
