CHOPPING OF TREES FOR TRANSMISSION LINE- NEPAL



Trees were being chopped recklessly from six different community forests in BP Nagar area in the southern part of Doti district, far western Nepal to make way for transmission line. Locals are given fake assurance that they will construct micro-hydropower project in their village if villagers, allowed to cut tress required for the electrification lines. District forest office has started to take action against such illegal felling.
