LAKES AND STREAMS FREEZE DROPS HYDROPOWER GENERATION- INDIA



All the lakes, springs, rivulets and tributaries of Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers, northern India has been frozen due to the cold wave which has led to the reduction in the discharge of water affecting the power generation in all major hydropower projects. Similarly, several part of Himachal Pradesh, including the foothill areas also reeled under biting cold wave as mercury hovered around freezing point at several places.
