DIVERTED RIVER WASHES AWAY PADDY FIELD- BHUTAN

Local farmers around Chamakharchhu River, northern Bhutan are worried because paddy fields along the riverside are being washed away. Five landowners have claimed that about 20 decimals of the land area have been washed away by the river since 2010. If the protection activity is not undertaken soon, the river will slowly erode the fields along its bank.
