Wildlife conservation effort in Qiangtan Nature Reserve in southwest of China's Tibet Autonomous Region
has resulted in doubling the number of various species such as Tibetan antelopes,
donkeys and yaks in the reserve. The number of Tibetan antelopes has increased
from 80,000 to 150,000 where as wild yaks and donkeys have increased to 40, 000
and 90, 000 respectively, compared to 20,000 and 50, 000 at the time of
establishment of the reserve.
