FOREST FIRE IN BHUTAN



The first forest fire of the year 2013-2014 burnt four to five acres of government reserved forest above Jazam, near Namseling in Thimphu, capital of Bhutan. The fire had started around 12.30 pm on 25th December which was later on fanned by strong winds. According to the Forestry Facts and figures, 2013, about 12,175 acres of forest was destroyed by the fire last year in the whole country.
