SNOW LEOPARD MONITORED FROM CAPITAL- NEPAL



New technology is helping the monitoring of snow leopard in Kanchenjanga Conservation Area, northern Nepal in collaboration with Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation, WWF Nepal, National Trust for Nature Conservation and Kanchenjanga Conservation area Management Council. Radio collar had been fitted to a male snow-leopard in the area, at an altitude of more than 4,000m. Recent Government studies have shown presence of around 500 snow leopards in the country.
