The Department of Environment (DoE) has sealed 12
dry cleaning and clothes printing shops situated along the banks of Bagmati and
Bishnumati River, central Nepal. These dying shops were found to discharge
hazardous chemicals into the rivers violating Environment Act 2053 and Waste
management Act 2070 and most of them were illegal.
