WATER CRISIS INTENSIFIED IN FAR-WESTERN HILLS- Nepal



Due to the prolonged drought and scorching heat in various parts of Achham, Bajura and Bajhang districts, far western Nepal, folks are facing crippling water scarcity. According to the villagers, they have to walk for hours to fetch just a pitcher of water as all the water sources have dried up in the area. As many as 100 families of Jagannath VDC, Bajura are compelled to drink contaminated water from the local streams resulting in the increase in the number of diarrhea, cholera and typhoid cases in District Public Health Office.
