The COBRA Project

The COBRA Project (www.projectcobra.org) is a multidisciplinary project focused on promoting community owned solutions to emerging challenges related to climate change, biodiversity conservation and forest management. We are working with indigenous groups in South America, using a range of visual methods including participatory video and participatory photography.

On 5 May 2014, the Project COBRA team launched a remodelled website to improve users’ experience and to achieve sustainability beyond the end of the project. As new communities from Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Suriname and - soon - French Guiana joined the project and started producing their own media, it was an opportunity to revise some of core features of the website.

Specific attention has thus been dedicated to make it easier to use the Media Gate, with the introduction of new navigation tools that allow browsing by media type, community, local solutions and publications: http://projectcobra.org/media-gate/

In addition, the website now features community pages, with general information about each community and, in the near future, links to their media: http://projectcobra.org/communities/

Our Timeline walks you through the highlights of the research carried out: http://projectcobra.org/timeline/

Project COBRA’s new website can be visited at: www.projectcobra.org
