Due to the failure of concerned authorities to rein
illegal miners, the villagers near the bank of Tinau river in Rupandehi
district, western Nepal are vulnerable to unpredictable seasonal flashfloods. Thus the frustrated locals have geared up to
protect the river, forests and human settlements. According to Dobhan Forest
Coordination Committee, equal participation from different quarters is a must
for effective implementation of conservation initiatives.
