POISONOUS MUSHROOM- BHUTAN



Four people have died in Samtse Dzongkhag, south Bhutan, for consuming poisonous mushroom. According to officials from National mushroom center, the mushroom could be of Amanita species, which is known to contain “Alpha-Aminitan”, a toxin that leads to organ failure and liver failure. The center has cautioned locals with following notification “Collect mushrooms that are consumed regularly and you are familiar with”.
