FIVE SANDALWOOD SMUGGLERS AND FOUR POACHERS HELD- NEPAL

Acting on a tip off, the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range (MPR) arrested five smugglers with 60 kg of red sandalwood that were being transported to Tatopani, the China border.  As smugglers are always looking for new nooks and crannies to slip the security personnel, the red sandalwood was shaped as wooden beads.  Meanwhile, four poachers were arrested for possessing two pieces of red panda skin at Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur District, central Nepal.
