FROM RARA NATIONAL PARK AND PARSA WILDLIFE RESERVE- NEPAL

The park authority of Rara National Park at Mugu District, west Nepal, in coordination with the buffer-zone communities have come up with the controlled grazing plan where locals pay a certain amount to graze cattle in selected areas of the park as recommended by the park authority.  Meanwhile, extraction of stones along Chure hill area in Bara and Makwanpur District, central Nepal, is drying up water sources and putting wildlife at risk of Parsa Wildlife Reserve. More than 36 stone crushing units, which are set up in the buffer area of Parsa Wildlife Reserve, exports stones to the bordering towns of India.
