Dumping of plastics and other pollutants along with
the sewerages from several localities has wiped out the aesthetics of river
Tawi in Jammu, northern India. However, the irrigation and flood control
department of the area has come forward to construct an artificial lake over
the river. At present, the river receives drains from several localities which
do not have proper management systems which has also ruined the river water
quality.
