DRY CONDITION AFFECTING WHEAT CROPS - PAKISTAN

Decline in irrigation water has added difficulty to wheat growers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Pakistan. In the peak summer season the water flow in the area remains between 44,000 cusec and 60,000 cusec. But this year there was only 6000 cusecs in the irrigation system. The dry condition also worsened due to closure of canal network for de-silting works.
