LHASA REGAINS GREENERY- CHINA

A desert area along the Yarlung Zangpo River in Lhasa has turned green after afforestation which was once devastated by illegal logging and overgrazing. In 2013, more than 53,600ha area was planted along the erosion prone area of the Yarlung Zango River which has minimized the effect of sand storms and strong winds. This has led to the improvement of environmental conditions too.
