FLOODS WREAK HAVOC - Pakistan



The floods accompanied by heavy rainfall had destroyed a bridge in Mastuj sub-division, disconnecting ten union councils from the main Chitral city, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north western Pakistan. Likewise several houses, bridges and roads have been washed away. The rehabilitation and recontruction works have been started in the affected areas.

HEAVY RAINS WREAK HAVOC



The heavy rains accompanied by strong wind has killed 45 people, while injuring about 200 in Peshawar, Charsadda and surrounding villages, northwestern Pakistan. The wind had reached up to 110 kph, while an emergency was announced at all local hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

DEFORESTATION CONTINUES



The rapid deforestation over the past 10 years have been adversely disturbing the environment of Peshawar, northwestern, Pakistan. Tress are being cut in the name of dry trees and trees fallen by wind. The government has banned the activities, while a committee has been formed against illegal harvesting of trees.

GAS CONNECTIONS BANNED - PAKISTAN



The Government of Khyber Pankhtunkhwa, northwest Pakistan has banned gas connections due to misuse of officials fund. It has created many problems for consumers. They have been demanding for the installation of power transformers.

WILDLIFE PARK DEGRADATION - PAKISTAN



The Loi Bher Wildlife Park, Loi Bher, Rawalpindi, northern Pakistan has lost its attraction. It was established in 1992 covering an area of 278.019 ha. It was once the most attractive tourist area but at present the condition has been worsened due to inadequate maintenance. The number of visitors has decreased from 6,000 to 500 each month.

AVALANCHE HITS BUNER - PAKISTAN



An avalanche has taken the lives of three persons of a family in Chamla area, Buner, KPK, northern Pakistan. The avalanche was triggered from an adjacent hillock which fell on the house causing destruction.
