SUMMER KILL- INDIA

Thousands of fish have been found dead in Nageen Lake in Kashmir. The Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) has linked the cause of death to increase in temperature that led to decrease in oxygen level and high decomposition of weeds and macrophytes in water bodies. Of late, there has been a massive increase in fish population due to ban on fishing in the lake.
