OF ENCROACHERS AND FOREST OFFICERS- NEPAL

The encroachers - 21 families – who were living in a community forest in Pipledanda VDC in Kanchanpur District, west Nepal, for past 3 years were evicted by Sukhlaphata wildlife reserve authority. The forest is used by wild animals for their movement. The authority has provided lands to the affected families in different location. Meanwhile, the District Forest Office in Rautahat, central Nepal, has suspended its 9 employees after they failed to report the felling of trees in national forest.
