One of the world recognized heritage, Dal Lake of
Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, northern India is shrinking to cesspool day by day
due to transport of materials from lots of illegal construction works around
the lake. Locals have blamed Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA)
for its silence, and for its laxity in enforcing law and order and its
involvement in corruption.
