Nests of an endangered bird species Pied
thrush (Geokichla wardii) were
spotted in Ghandruk and Chhomrong of Annapurna Conservation Area Project
(ACAP), western Nepal at an altitude of 2,200 meters. According to ACAP, these
birds mostly migrate to Nepal from Bhutan, India and Sri Lanka during summer to
hatch its eggs in areas above 1,500 to 2,500 meters from sea. However, these
birds are at risk due to habitat destruction in the area.
