SMUGGLERS ARRESTED- NEPAL



Five people involved in smuggling and trading of Red Sandalwood beads have been arrested from different places of Kathmandu, central Nepal. About 5.5 kilograms of sandalwood beads were found along with those smugglers. International Trade in Endangered Species of wild Fauna and Flora has prohibited the trading of red sandalwood and goods made of it. Similarly, a smuggler of Red Panda was also nabbed from Boudha, Kathmandu with red panda skin. Red Panda is listed as endangered species by CITES Convention 1975 and the National Parks and Wild Life Conservation Act 2029.
