Around 12,000 hectares of
forest land has been encroached in the central Region of Nepal. Among 19
districts in the region, the highest encroachment of forest area (2950 ha) is in
Sarlahi district. More than 800 houses have been built In the encroached land,
according to report of Central Region Forest Directorate.
