With increased knowledge about benefits of
using renewable energy, its use has been increasing in Kanchanpur, western
Nepal. Renewable energy users in the district have reached 30 per cent this
year which is the result of renewable
energy use campaign started around 2003
A.D. that made the locals aware of their benefits. Similarly, users of improved
cooking stove have also reached 568 this year which is double of last year’s
data. Environment, energy and Climate change division of GoN has aimed to
declare six VDCs of the district as smoke-free.
