An excessive use of pesticides in farming has led farmers to suffer from nausea,
vomiting, headache, red patches on skin, allergies and nose blockage at Belhara
Village of Dhankuta district, Eastern Nepal. Number of families engaged in
vegetable farming in the village is 800. In the past one decade vegetable
farming in the district has grown by 120 percent and use of pesticide by 35
percent according to District Agriculture Development Office.
