GYBN Statement on Marine- and Costal Biodiversity
Yesterday Svana (Germany) and Rioko (Japan) delivered our GYBN Statement
on Marine- and Costal Biodiversity, urging parties at COP12 to
accelerate the process of recognizing EBSAs. GYBN reminded delegates
that marine ecosystems are coming very close to a tipping point where
irreversible damages would become inevitable. Ultimately, GYBN expects
parties to overcome their differences and to work on the creation of
Marine Protected Areas!
