With rapidly increasing temperatures, sources of water
have dried up in Samjung and Ghey villages of the Mustang district, western
Nepal, compelling people to find a more habitable place down in the south. Weather
pattern in the area ranges from extreme drought to extreme rainfall increasing
the risk to flash floods and landslide. Another indicator of the changing
climate has been the migration of animals and wild life to the upper mountains
from the lower regions and thriving apple plantations in areas up to 3000
meters.
