Of the four sewage treatment plants which were established 20 years ago
in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Pakistan, only one is functional while
other three have turned into dumping sites. Establishment of those plan in unfeasible
areas is the main reason for not being functional, although Asian Development
Bank (ADB) has funded around 1.14 million USD to complete the project.
