An initiative to
save the Peling Tsho Lake has been started in Nganglam, Pema Gatshel district
in southeastern Bhutan. United Nations Development Program (UNDP) under its
small development project has provided budget assistance of USD 50,000 for the
recovery of the lake. According to the locals, the lake used to be source of
water for more than 500 households once but due to the deforestation it has
dried now.
