Pangolins, one of the endangered species of Nepal, are on
the verge of extinction due to illegal trade from Tehrathum, Sankhuwasabha,
Taplejung and Dhankuta districts, in eastern Nepal to India and China. Pangolin
scales fetch NPR 15,000 to 45, 000 per kilogram in local market.
