CROCODILE CONSERVATION- NEPAL

In order to increase the number of endangered species of Ghariyal (Gavialis gangeticus), Chitwan National Park (CNP) had left 20 (1male and 19 female) crocodiles in Babae river of Bardiya National Park, northern Nepal two days ago. Recently, CNP had also released 20 Ghariyal in Rapti River and in total 113 crocodiles have been released in several rivers this year by this national park. However, only one per cent were able to survive due to the polluted water and lack of fishes in rivers.
