NEPAL TOWARDS ACHIEVING MDG GOAL



The number of people whose income was less than a dollar has decreased from 33.5 per cent in 1990 to 16.4 per cent at present and the population below the national poverty line has also come down to 23.82 per cent from 38 per cent in 2000.  Nepal is moving towards achieving  MDG goal of eradicating extreme poverty and hunger. Similarly, the country's MGD progress report also claimed the reduction of infant mortality rate from 64 per thousand live births  in 2000 to  46 in  2011.
