CONSERVATION EFFORTS IN TIBET

With the aim of conservation of the wildlife and the preservation of natural vegetation, 38 nature reserves with an area of 697,007 hectares have been established in Tibet Autonomous Region. Among them two are the national nature reserves including Mangkam Yunnan Snub-nosed Monkey National Nature Reserve and Riwoche Red Deer National Nature Reserve.
