‘QUEEN OF WETLANDS’ IS DYING OUT- INDIA



Hokersar wetland -the Ramsar site- which is an important refuge for migratory birds is facing extensive encroachments, siltation and pollution. In the past four decades its area has shrunk from 210 hectares in 1969 to less than 45 hectares.
