COP 11- MEMBER OF GYBN SPEAKS TO STUDENTS IN CANADA

Shailyn Drukis from COP 11 spoke to Grade 7 students from St-Laurent Academy in Ottawa over Skype.  She answered questions the students had about the CBD process, youth, and the GYBN.

It is very important that children and youth know that biodiversity issues can be successfully solved and that youth have a voice in this process.

St-Laurent Academy in Ottawa has had a long history with involving youth in biodiversity issues.  In 2009 it developed the Second International Youth Symposium for Biodiversity and in 2010 it sent 9 Canadians to COP 10 in Japan.
