Convention
 of Biodiversity (CBD) Conference of Parties (COP-11) is being organized
 in Hyderabad currently where 193 countries negotiate on issues 
surrounding biodiversity conservation and access to biodiversity & 
sharing benefits there from, utilization of traditional knowledge, 
finance mechanism to fund conservation, etc. 
The
 whole process is very complicated and the words are beyond 
comprehension of even those who work in related field. To de-formalize 
the process we are presenting a series called “de-Formalizing CBD” in 
which experts, activists, conservationists, policy makers and country 
negotiators interact with Indian Youth Delegation participating in the 
CBD COP11.
To
 initiate the series today we invited Neha Sinha to get a perspective on
 the CBD process from a young, knowledgeable person. Neha is currently 
working as Policy & Advocacy Officer at Bombay Natural History 
Society (BNHS) writing regularly for their publication “Hornbill”. The
