In Baijapur
VDC of Banke District, west Nepal, women participation in a forest user group
executive committee has been overwhelming. There are nine community forests in
the village in which two user groups are led by women and each of the user
group has 5 women representatives. In a way it has also enhanced their
leadership skills. Profit incurred from the community forest is being spent to
improve the socio economic status of women.
