MORE THAN 60 PERCENT OF FOREST LAND ENCROACHED IN JAMMU & KASHMIR- INDIA
Out of 20,230 sq km of forest land in the state about
12,640 sq km of land is under encroachment. Developmental activities near the
forest area has intensified human encroachment states the forest department.
