LUDLOW’S SWALLOWTAIL – THE NATIONAL BUTTERFLY- Bhutan
Locals of Tobrang village in Bumdeling gewog
of Trashiyangtse dzongkhag, east Bhutan, have demanded that any study or
research work on Ludlow’s Swallowtail should be limited to its natural habitat.
They also showed their discontent after Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for
Conservation and Environment (UWICE) took the pupa to study its lifecycle.
Meanwhile, Bumdeling wildlife sanctuary (BWS) has stated that foreigners
seeking entry to Tobrang would require security clearance from home ministry.
