EMBEZZLEMENT AND CORRUPTED OFFICERS- Nepal

Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development have cited massive irregularity in social security and development funds of three districts (Dhanusha, Mahottari and Siraha) of eastern Nepal and have singled out the village secretaries for misappropriation of funds. Following the charges, ministry has suspended 18 village secretaries and the Local Development Officer of Dhanusha district. In Saptari district 51 village secretaries faced corruption charges last year.
