Many bird species of Nepal are facing risk to
their habitat due to human activities and extensive use of pesticides. Comparing
2004 assessment (133 threatened species) additional 16 species are considered
as nationally threaten among 867 indigenous bird species recorded in Nepal by
2012. The number of critically endangered bird species in Nepal alarmingly
increased to 61 by 2010 end. Similarly, ingesting diclofenac while eating the
rotting carcass of animals has led to the death of more than two dozen
