RHINO POACHING - INDIA



A bullet-riddled carcass of a male rhino was found by patrolling forest personnel at Bansbari range of the Manas National Park, Guwahati. There are genuine fears that the Manas National Park will lose its Heritage Site status if the poaching of translocated rhinos is not halted immediately. A prime reason for  poaching  is the failure to monitor the park at the ground level.
