A study on Dolphins of Karnali River suggests that the
population distribution and its range have been declining by 0.495 and 1.165 km
respectively every year since 1982 (first study). Furthermore, the study
underlines that river pollution, low water level, decrease in prey, change in
land use and habitat fragmentation, are threatening the existence of dolphins.
