BIODIVERSITY YOUTH MENTORSHIP PROGRAM- OTTAWA, CANADA

Today we had our youth mentorship program through our own Biodiversitymatters organization (http://www.biodiversitymatters.org/index.html).  We are preparing youth to take leadership roles on local environmental issues here in Ottawa and beyond.  The topic was on Political Action.  We had presentations from

1. Dayna Noltie (Global Youth Biodiversity Network) from Toronto

2. Alissa Campbell (Project Manager, Growing Up Organic)

3. Marie-Pierre Daigle (National Director of We Canada)

4. Yasir Naqvi (Liberal MPP for Ottawa Centre)
5 Jennifer McKenzie (OCDSB Chair) 

The goal of this program was to engage and empower young people to be leaders as guardians of our biological heritage.
