ARSENIC IN DRINKING WATER- NEPAL

For the past one decade, more than 600 families belonging to Kamaiya (Bonded laborer) community in Kanchanpur District, west Nepal, are forced to drink arsenic contained water due to unavailability of safe drinking water. Hand pumps installed to extract ground water (less than 25 feet below) draws water with high level of arsenic contamination.
