ZERO TOLERANCE ON DEFORESTATION- INDIA

Government of Himachal Pradesh in northern India has stated to adopt "zero tolerance" on illegal felling of trees to conserve the forests in the state. According to the government, Himachal Pradesh Forest Corporation was given responsibility to cut dry and fallen trees and it has removed about 978 dry and fallen trees by December this year. But during the inspection, it was seen that it has cut down 75 green trees as well. The government has decided to enforce strict rules to reduce deforestation in the area.
